Guiding You Through the Surgical Process

As your primary eye care providers, we work with you to maintain your eye health and help you make the best choices for your visual needs. Our highly trained eye doctors receive ongoing education and follow best practices to help you through the process of optical surgery in a reassuring and proactive way.

Medical Optometry America is here to answer your questions and take the necessary steps to prepare for your procedure.

Seamless Care During Every Stage

To help ensure your procedure goes smoothly and seamlessly, we have developed protocols and close working relationships with all our partner surgeons.

After any assessment, your Medical Optometry America eye doctor may recommend surgery. We will explain your procedure to you and answer any questions you may have about the operation.

Next, we will refer you to an ophthalmologist to perform your surgery. In the meantime, we will help you prepare for the operation. This stage of our work includes treating pre-existing conditions that might interfere with your surgical results or recovery, such as dry eye. We also perform any assessments you might need before your procedure.

Recovery

After your surgery, you will need a number of follow-up appointments. These appointments are essential for monitoring your progress, evaluating your healing, and testing your vision to see if any corrections are required during your recovery. Your Medical Optometry America eye doctor is the ultimate recovery resource.

Our extensive medical knowledge allows us to provide a higher standard of post-surgical care. Our commitment to ongoing education also means we can provide you with the most recent information regarding recovery management and post-surgery expectations.

Referring You to Partner Ophthalmologists

The eye doctors at Medical Optometry America are uniquely focused on the medical science behind eye care. Our specialized perspective empowers us to consider our colleagues in Ophthalmology more thoroughly.

No matter what procedure you need, you can trust our doctors to refer you to the most experienced, respected, and trustworthy surgeons in the area. We familiarize ourselves with the technology at their disposal, as well as their preferred surgical techniques. Based on this information, we can refer you to the ophthalmologist that best suits your needs, providing you a more personalized experience.

Cataract Surgery

During cataract surgery, the affected lens directly behind your pupil is removed and replaced with a clear plastic intraocular lens (IOL). You have the ability to choose which type of IOL is placed in your eye during this procedure, which only has to be performed once in your lifetime. There are many factors you should consider carefully before selecting your new IOL to ensure maximum comfort and visual acuity.

If you require IOL replacement surgery, your Medical Optometry America doctor will work closely with you to select the perfect lens for your unique needs and lifestyle.
