Medical Optometry America (MOA) is the first national optometric brand focused exclusively on primary medical eye care. We are seeking exceptional candidates to be the Medical Directors for our newest locations scheduled to open in the greater Philadelphia region within the next year. As the Medical Director for a dedicated MOA Eye Health Center, you will provide clinical and operational leadership for your practice as part of a regional network of MOA offices.
JOB DESCRIPTION
As we prepare for our first VC round this fall, we are seeking a summer intern who can help us with a robust and comprehensive deep dive into our business performance to date, analyzing both patient data as well as financials to identify key strengths and opportunities. Specific examples of analytical projects will include:
  • Analyze patient data to develop deeper understand of evolving patient base across EHC’s, identifying key differences, potential gaps, and opportunities for growth
  • Develop insights on patient needs by medical diagnosis and patterns in the cross-utilization of services
  • Define the value of a typical patient by EHC and medical need to help shape marketing and overall company strategies
  • Bring a fresh perspective and critical eye to company financials, identifying potential areas of weakness to VC story
  • Create a dashboard to track key performance metrics as defined in exercise above
  • Evaluate the ROI for priority equipment investments to assess the relative attractiveness of each and project requirements for break-even
  • Assess patient volume data to help improve revenue forecasting
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Must Haves
  • Exceptional analytical skill with the ability to gather, organize, analyze, and interpret significant amounts of information
    • Advanced proficiency in Excel and other analytical tools
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Highly self-motivated and independent, eager to learn and contribute in a meaningful way
  • Strong communication skills, with ability to translate complex quantitative findings into compelling, concise stories
  • Ability to be flexible in dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field
Nice to Haves
  • MBA preferred
  • Significant prior experience in data analytics and/or consulting preferred
  • Healthcare major / experiences, especially with patient management systems
